Meet Our Patients

happy family rounded edges 2PediPlace patients live in Dallas, Denton, Tarrant, and Collin Counties, with the majority residing in Lewisville, Flower Mound, The Colony, Denton, Carrollton, and Dallas.

PediPlace is the primary pediatric healthcare solution for families of uninsured or underinsured children in North Texas. The existing need for primary care, quality pediatric health care, especially preventive care, in this region far surpasses the capacity of either of our facilities.

We invite you to meet a few of our patients:

Christian is now a 1 year old stable growing little boy. He was successfully adopted through the Foster Care system to a family with 3 biological children and 1 adopted little girl.

Christian came to PediPlace beginning at birth because his Foster to Adopt family could not find a foster care insurance Medicaid provider. PediPlace is a provider for Foster care Medicaid insurance for Foster to Adopt families. Christian suffers from food allergies, asthma, and eczema. A volunteer specialist Allergist was called in to help Christian at PediPlace. Now, 1 year later, Christian is a chunky boy who is doing good thanks to the medical team at PediPlace. His adoption was successful and the family is keeping his Medicaid due to his high medical needs which are under medical supervision.

Recently, a patient sent us an email letting us know how we made a difference in her life. Maria said:

"I am currently a pre-nursing student and would love to have the opportunity to volunteer at PediPlace. PediPlace is where I would go as a child and now my younger siblings go there. I would love the chance to volunteer since PediPlace helped my family in tough times and made them feel more at ease even if the reason why we were there was serious. PediPlace is really the reason why I decided to go into nursing and hope to work in pediatrics."

Thanks to community financial support, we are able to provide primary pediatric healthcare for our community’s children like Maria and her siblings, who are then empowered to change future lives in North Texas.

Rojelio is now 13 years old.  He started coming to PediPlace when he was 15 months of age. He was born with a rare form of Hereditary Anemia, which required transfusions every month. In June 2012, he received a stem cell transplant from his older brother who was a perfect match.  In order to not reject his brother’s bone marrow, his bone marrow and entire immune system had to be completely obliterated. Although he received all of his childhood immunizations, his body has no “immune memory” for those vaccines, so he had to restart all of his vaccines over a 12 month period. Rojelio no longer qualified for Medicaid due to family reasons. Rojelio received his vaccines over the year at PediPlace as part of the vaccines for children program.
