PediPlace believes that what happens in the exam room can profoundly influence what happens in the classroom. As an official site of the national Reach Out And Read program, PediPlace promotes literacy and provides literacy education to our patients' ages five months – five years and their parents.

At each well-child visit, our medical providers present each child with new developmentally appropriate book at the beginning of each exam. By observation and direct interaction we are able to measure each child’s ability and speak with parents about ways to encourage reading and love of books.
