PediPlace clients live in Dallas, Denton, and Tarrant Counties, with the majority residing in the cities of Lewisville, Carrollton, Flower Mound, Coppell, Irving, and Farmers Branch.
PediPlace is the primary pediatric healthcare solution for families of uninsured or underinsured children like Jamie in southern Denton County, and only one of two northwest Dallas County. The existing need for full service, quality pediatric healthcare, especially preventive care, in this region far surpasses the capacity of either of these facilities
We invite you to meet a few of our patients
Angie
Although employed, Angie’s parents cannot afford health insurance and do not qualify for public programs. Suffering from chronic asthma, her parents would take her to the local emergency room when she couldn’t breathe. Sometimes her situation was so acute that she would be hospitalized for days. Angie is now a PediPlace patient and her asthma is under control. PediPlace is now her medical home where periodic well child appointments monitor her asthma and medication.
Mark
Shaken baby syndrome left Mark blind and in a wheelchair which make it difficult for his elderly grandmother "Nona" to take care of him. This winter, Dr. Smith found out that Mark and Nona slept on the cold floor in their home. Mark would fall out of bed and Nona would have to lift him. Thanks to our staff, Mark now has an electric hospital bed. When asked about the bed, Nona beams, "Thanks to PediPlace, we now sleep well. With their help, I can continue to watch Mark."
Jamie
PediPlace has always been a big part of my children's lives. My family has been coming to PediPlace for 5 years. I have three children ages 2, 4 and 5. Like most parents, I worried that my children were not going to get the best care because we have Medicaid. Then, I found PediPlace and the Nurse Practitioners and Dr. were excellent.
My 5-year-old has spent a lot of time at PediPlace and it has been a great pleasure to be a part of something so wonderful for children in the community. You know when you come to this place that your child or children will receive the best care.
Our 3-year-old has a heart condition and if it were not for Barbara holding my hand, I think I would have just lost my mind. No matter how silly I think my questions are, she has always been very caring.
Our 2-year-old son was very sick when he was born and had it not been for [the] Dr. and Barbara, he would not be the healthy child he is today. The emotional support of the staff was so wonderful. Jamie called me every couple of days to make sure we did all right during our 6-week hospital stay.
Our community would not have such healthy children who have no insurance if PediPlace did not exist. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the entire staff at PediPlace.
Sincerely,
Jamie |
